Today, we are happy to announce the general availability of OneCloud Recovery, our flagship product and entry into the hybrid cloud management market. When we started this journey in late 2013, our goal was to build a solution that securely integrates existing VMware-based data centers with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and eliminates the need for a costly secondary infrastructure for disaster recovery.
Until now, Disaster Recovery (DR) has been, well, nothing short of a disaster for many organizations. The public cloud offers hope but cannot be adopted directly by organizations for DR. In fact, most organizations do not have a true DR strategy. High cost is one of the main prohibitive factors. Also, organizations may be approaching DR with a variety of separate technologies, having to piece them together in a futile effort to create a comprehensive solution.
OneCloud Recovery is built from the ground up specifically for VMware to AWS, offering enterprises and service providers – MSPs and resellers – a far simpler, more cost-effective solution that allows them to customize the level of protection and cost based on the criticality of different applications. With total cost savings between 50 and 70 percent due to OneCloud Recovery’s advanced cost avoidance engine (we determine how best to minimize operational and usage costs), organizations can implement a complete DR solution – from auto discovery to failback – without any disruption to their production environments and within an hour. And while the power of AWS is the driving force behind OneCloud Recovery, administrators are able to implement and utilize the solution without any prior knowledge of AWS. This simplicity extends from set-up (installation takes no more than 30 minutes), through protection, and ultimately failover and failback. That’s right. You can do DR over your lunch break. Simple as that.
Our current data-driven world is defined by exponential data growth and organizations that are in a constant struggle to keep pace with the data. OneCloud Recovery provides a simple, unified and cost-effective way to use the public cloud as a secondary data center for disaster recovery.
We’re looking forward to demoing OneCloud Recovery at VMworld in just a couple of weeks. If you’re there, drop by our booth #308 to take a look at – and talk more about – this product. Ask about our free DR assessment tool, which can help you understand your Cloud DR options in less than 10 minutes.
