In Her Own Words: Cheryle Cushion, VP of Marketing

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost three months since I’ve joined OneCloud Software. Almost as soon as I joined, I had the opportunity to be a part of the company’s most significant milestone to date and see the wheels in motion. At this year’s VMworld in San Francisco, we launched OneCloud Recovery, the first software solution to fully automate and cost optimize the use of AWS as a virtual disaster recovery data center. It was exciting to bear witness to the whole story – not just from behind a desk; VMworld gave me the opportunity to hear first hand the challenges facing many IT organizations who are sorting through questions such as what are the best use cases for the cloud, how can the cloud be leveraged cost effectively and more importantly, will leveraging the cloud further burden my already overstretched IT team.

I joined OneCloud because my experience in both the storage/software industries and in growing young companies seemed to be a perfect combination for this innovative, forward-thinking company. The disaster recovery space is an area that is somewhat misunderstood, but perfectly accessible to every business, and I’m thrilled to have joined a company that is making DR in the cloud a reality. Even in just a couple of months, I’ve seen how OneCloud can have an effect on the industry and the impact we’ve had among companies looking for a solution to a very real problem.
As VP of marketing, I’m looking forward to helping dispel some of the myths that surround (traditional) disaster recovery, and setting the stage for DR as an ideal use case for the hybrid cloud. Misconceptions are making way for a new reality, and I am excited about the opportunity ahead for OneCloud and our customers.
